I love this time of year. I love the changing weather. I love the fall colors. I love the first snow. I love the holiday cheer. I love the holiday food.
Fall and Winter are a busy time for us both in business and personally. My husband and I always say that our favorite holidays of the year are Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter because those 3 days are the only days of the year that we actually 100% take off. And by 100% take off I really just mean we don’t answer calls or meet with clients and we don’t feel bad about it. We actually usually do still do some computer work. We just can’t help it. We are workaholics! We do pretty much work 362 days a year in some fashion. But, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Easter Sunday we relax and don’t think about business as much as we possibly can.
This year we didn’t do much in the way of vacation and traveling, but each year we do a 2 week trip to the mid-west where my husband’s family lives. We always do a “working” vacation, as there is a whole lot of work we can do on the phone and by email, while still having someone on the ground here in Boise helping us out as needed. It’s a great trip getting to see family, doing a little bit of relaxing, and having a change of scenery. Even though we work while we are away it is also still a nice break too.
I’m also taking an impromptu trip to California for 4 days with my 2 daughters to visit some friends. I’m looking forward to that as well!
The end of the year is always a time for relaxation, rejuvenation, fun, family, holiday celebration and planning for the new year.
And that is just what we are going to do.
